“I wanted to provide my heartfelt thanks to the Surgical Day Care unit, Anesthesia, and surgical teams who all cared for me yesterday (March 5) when I required urgent surgery. I work as an emergency physician at the hospital and this is really my first time being on the patient side of things – I truly could not have been more cared for from start to finish. All of the nurses in surgical daycare, the porter who took me to the block unit, the three AAs (Cathy, Matt & Matt), Drs Lui and Shabeb from Anesthesia, Drs Gammon, Hayes and Al-Mulhim from Surgery, and Rita RN in the OR were all incredible.

This is a letter of appreciation for the care I have received from the Ottawa Hospital. I presently have seven joint replacements, of which five were performed at the Ottawa Hospital. Both of my elbows were by Dr. J. Whitcomb Pollock; both shoulders by Dr. Steven Papp and my hip by Dr. Simon Garceau. These physicians are professional, and highly skilled. Their supporting staff, which includes the Riverside Hospital physio department are exceptional.
